Jan Dobkowski

JAN DOBKOWSKI (born in 1942)
Painter, drawer, creator of spatial compositions. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Together with J. Zieliński he founded the NEO-NEO-NEO Group, which was active in the years 1965-70. At first, Dobkowski remained under the influence of pop-art, then he created erotic paintings, operating with large plain surfaces finished up with decorative, nouveau line. The consequence of painting two-color, red-green works was a ‘cut-out’ of the figures out of the background and the creation of spatial compositions.
