MIKOŁAJ MALESZA (born in 1954)
a painter and a stage designer. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, at the Department of Interior Design, where he graduated from in 1979. He had over 20 individual exhibitions and participated in numerous collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad (Germany, France, Belgium, Holland, England, Czech and Slovak Republics, Italy, Austria, USA and Japan). He was awarded with numerous prizes, e.g. 2nd prize at XXXVII National Winter Art Salon (Radom, 1984), 3rd prize at XII J. Spychalski National Painting Contest (Poznań, 1987). Malesza created circa 40 stage designs, e.g. he created the majority of ‘Towarzystwo Wierszalin’ theatre, with which he was awarded with the Fringe First prize at the famous theatrical festival in Edinburgh three times. He was also a winner at the ‘Animations’ International Visual Art Festival (Bielsko-Biała, 2002).
