AGNIESZKA ZAWISZA studied at the Department of Painting in the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. She graduated in 2000 with honours in the painting studio of professor Rajmund Ziemski and in lithography in the studio of professor Władysław Winiecki. She also obtained her Ph.D in the field of Fine Arts at the Lodz Art Academy in 2019 under the supervision of professor Aleksandra Gieraga.
Numerous solo shows and frequent involvement in group exhibitions are evidence of her active professional approach as an artist and member of the artistic community. She is the co-author of the multimedia project Matkopolko relating to the condition of the mother-artist in contemporary society.
In her artistic activities, her interest in the motif of water, open space and, above all, landscape, first seen briefly, then reinterpreted on the paintings, manifests itself in various ways. To create her painterly message of the surrounding reality, the artist uses the effects obtained through formal experiments, including various ways of applying paint that is poured, imprinted, layered- opaque and transparent.
