JANUSZ MULAK (born in 1939)
Janusz Mulak was born in 1939. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw at the ateliers of Professor Jacek Sempoliński (painting), Professor Bohdan Urbanowicz (painting) and at the atelier of architectural design of Professor Romulad Gutt. He was honored at an international arts academies contest organized by Gramercy Park in New York and his diploma work was awarded as the best one in Poland in 1967. Mulak had a scholarship at the Department of Culture in Finland. He also completed the art history study at Heidelberg University. His more important realizations: Caritas Alten Centrum in Plankstadt (hospital, chapel, personel’s house), a housing estate by Mulingstrasse in Heidelberg and Autohouse Brugemann in Wieblingen. Individual and collective exhibitions in numerous cities in Poland and abroad: Warsaw, Berlin, Paris, Prague, Stockholm, Coppenhagen, London, Moscow, Heidelberg, Kolonia, Dallas and New York. A prizewinner of The Ateleir of Fine Arts at the Zachęta Gallery in Warsaw.
The artist has mastered painting workshop. He paints with the freedom, uses forms and colors with unusual ease. He masterly operates with the light and leads his brush with a real virtuosity.
