JANUSZ STANNY (b. 1932- d.2014)
Janusz Stanny was a polish graphic artist, illustrator, cartoonist, poster artist. Since 1975 he worked in the studio of book illustration at the Faculty of Graphic Arts. Between 1986 and 2005, he was a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and a promoter of several dozen MA dissertations.
Having received a diploma in 1957 from the studio of prof. Henryk Tomaszewski, Stanny started his artistic career in graphic arts. Since then, he made projects of hundreds of book covers, around 50 posters, numerous illustrations for books such as Pan Tadeusz, Bible, La Fontaine’s stories, Don Quixote, Andersen’s fairytales. He also created visual arrangements for animated films. His works were published, among others, in the daily Gazeta Wyborcza.
