KATARZYNA NOWAK (born in 1963)
A Polish sculptor. She studied at the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass at the Academy of Fine Arts. She graduated in 1989 from the studios of prof. Krystyna Cybińska and Wanda Gołkowska.
The dreamlike muses and goddesses constitute the main theme of Katarzyna Nowak’s sculptures. As ceramic is the fundamental material of these sculptures and has long traditions dating back to prehistoric times, Nowak’s works seem to have ancient origins inspired by the Etruscan art.
Katarzyna Nowak begins with figurative representations, but then on her way to reach the most synthetic depiction, comes to the moment when the object looses its original meaning turning into a form which embodies beauty.
