MARTA RYNKIEWICZ (born in 1983). Polish painter. She studied painting under Prof. Henryk Cześnik and graphic under Prof. Jerzy Krechowicz at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk. She received her diploma in 2009. In 2007/2008 she studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milano.
The reality in Rynkewicz’s paintings is depicted in a graphic manner. They are bound together by concise aesthetics of pop-art. In the series ”Dreams, Apparitions, Fantasies” the artist skilfully builds the profound tension which is characteristic of her art. At the same time the she leads a mysterious yet harmonious narrative. Landscapes, interiors, architectural spaces are deprived of human presence. Bright, flashy colours, clear light and resort sceneries reflect the atmosphere of summer. The perspective and composition make the viewer participate in the created world.
„We know best the world in our dreams. We are alone and we know nothing about existence. We take a risk. We yield to temptation of emptiness. We are silent. And perhaps we miss something?”
