Martta Węg

MARTTA WĘG (born in 1978)
Martta Węg graduated from the European Academy of Arts in Warsaw with a special mention in 2002. Her first individual exhibition took place in Gallery Art Présent in Paris. She has been granted with the prize of the Mayor of Warsaw for the Best Graduate from Artistic Academy. She was also nominated for the Prize of The President of Poland for the Best Graduate of Artistic School in Poland for 2002.
The world of Martta Węg seems to be ephemeral, however, it is constructed on permanent rules. Among them, the most important seems to be the absolute primacy of color. Her brush is rather guided by the desire to tell a story through a symphony of colors, than the vast line. Perfectly mastered drawing by the painter is taken into possession of the palette.
