Rafał Koliński

Rafał Koliński (born 1978 in Sieradz) is a versatile visual artist, designer, and set designer whose work is rooted in a solid academic foundation.

A graduate of the prestigious Władysław Strzemiński Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź, he developed his interdisciplinary approach at the Faculty of Textiles and Fashion. He honed his skills in the studios of eminent professors: painting and drawing under Tadeusz Śliwiński, sculpture under Zbigniew Dudek, and unique textile art under Aleksandra Mańczak. He further expanded his expertise through postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Interior Architecture at the Jan Matejko Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków.

A central place in his oeuvre is held by ink drawings on paper, characterized by precision, a masterful command of contrast, and an ethereal, oneiric atmosphere . His experimentation with the materiality of unique textiles has also earned him numerous accolades. Professionally, he specializes in graphic and set design for the museum and exhibition sector.

Koliński’s work has been showcased in numerous solo and group exhibitions across Europe and the USA. His key achievements include First Prize in the "From Loom to Krosno" competition (2008) and an honorary mention at the Park Art Fair International in Geneva (2011). His international presence includes exhibitions at prominent venues such as Casa Batlló in Barcelona, The Broadway Gallery in New York, as well as showcases in Paris, Berlin, and Italian cities like Siena and Lecce.
