KATARZYNA ORTHWEIN
Katarzyna Orthwein’s artistic journey began in her native Bulgaria, where she honed her craft at the Academy of Fine Arts in Sofia. Under the mentorship of Professor Petar Chuklev at the Faculty of Graphic Arts, she developed the technical mastery that would become her signature.
Her work quickly transcended borders. Over the years, Orthwein’s art has traveled the world, featured in over 50 exhibitions across diverse cultures—from Canada and Japan to Italy, France, and Scandinavia.
Paris holds a particularly special chapter in her career. It was there, in the heart of the art world, that her talent received prestigious recognition: gold and silver medals at the Académie Internationale de Lutèce (1982, 1983) and a silver medal at the Salon International de Peinture, Sculpture et Tapisserie (1992).
Today, she continues to express her vision through the demanding mediums of lithography, monotype, and drawing.
