Victor Davies - Landlord
A striking, street-art-infused painting "Landlord" by Victor Davies from 2020. This large-format acrylic canvas, operating with strong contrasts and raw forms, serves as a satirical commentary on modern reality. An excellent, edgy painting for modern lofts, perfectly suited for open, industrial spaces.
Opis
Acrylic painting "Landlord" – Victor Davies
"Landlord" is another uncompromising artwork by Victor Davies, where the creator collides neo-expressionist forms with bitter irony. The composition is built on bold, angular blocks of primary colors: bright yellow, deep blue, and blood red, all bound together by a thick, chaotic black outline.
The central axis of the canvas is the titular "Landlord"—a deformed, grotesque silhouette with a massive blue head, asymmetrical eyes, and bared teeth. Inside the figure's torso, the artist has placed a symbolic, isolated section resembling an x-ray of a stomach filled with plant motifs, which amplifies the surreal and predatory character of the piece.
As in other works by this artist, the text integrated into the background plays a crucial role in its interpretation. On the left side, there is the conspicuous phrase "THE RENT", and right by the ghastly protagonist's mouth appears the firm demand "NOW".
The entire piece is a sharp, street-style manifesto, exposing greed and ruthlessness in social relations.
This large-format canvas (100 by 120 cm) will perfectly serve as the main visual accent in bold, avant-garde interiors.
