Janusz Gajos (b. 1939) is a renowned Polish actor, professor, and photographer. Born in Dąbrowa Górnicza, he began acting at the Children's Theater of Zagłębie and overcame multiple rejections to graduate from the National Film School in Łódź in 1965. Gajos gained fame for his role as Janek Kos in the iconic series "Czterej pancerni i pies" ("Four Tank-Men and a Dog") and has starred in acclaimed films like "Przesłuchanie" ("Interrogation")prize at Cannes Festival, "Ucieczka z kina Wolność" ("Escape from Cinema Freedom"), and "Zemsta" ("Revenge").
In addition to acting, Gajos is passionate about photography, which he has pursued for many years. His latest exhibition showcases a selection of his photographs, reflecting his keen observation of the world. The exhibition features diverse themes, including nature and urban landscapes, highlighting his artistic sensitivity. Gajos's work as a photographer complements his theatrical career, allowing him to express his creativity from behind the lens.
Gajos has received numerous accolades for his contributions to the arts, including the Golden Medal "Zasłużony Kulturze – Gloria Artis" in 2007 and the Commander's Cross with Star of the Order of Polonia Restituta in 2011.
